Posted by on Sep 15, 2013 in EA Research | 0 comments

Hello All:

Just a reminder that we are planning the next on-site meeting of the Penn State IST EA Advisory Group for Tuesday, September 28 (full day) and Wednesday September 29 (half day), 2010 at University Park.    The registration web site will be available soon.

At this meeting, we will update you on our great progress since the September 2009 meeting and we will have reports from the committees.  We will also be presenting a straw man of our long-term participation model for our EA research center for comment.  The functions of the committees will be under our new EA research center that is under development and we are working with the research committee to develop a straw man structure for the center that will be discussed at the meeting this September.  We will send further information prior to the meeting.  Please try to attend this meeting if possible – this will be an important meeting as it will set the structure and process for this group going forward.

Organizations interested in working with the center to set the research streams for the coming year are invited to attend the research meeting that occur on the afternoon of September 29 from 1 – 5 following the general group meeting – more information on this session will follow this summer.

We’re making great progress on many fronts and thank all of you for your continued support and enthusiasm.  I also thank you for the continuous flow of new organizations that many of you continue to refer to us.

More coming soon.

EA Survey: Skills for EA Practitioners

Posted by on Jul 30, 2013 in EA Research | 0 comments

As the enterprise architecture programs increase in importance for government, non-profit and private sector organizations, a growing challenge is acquiring the resources and skills for successful EA practitioners.  Professional education is a solution to this challenge.  Penn State University’s Center for Enterprise Architecture would like to help our profession by understanding the market needs and preferences for training, which will be used by Penn State and other organizations to develop training offerings best suited to practitioner needs.

To help us get this market insight, we’ve developed a short 12 question survey (hosted by Forrester Research, a Center partner). We ask that you send this survey to people in your organization.  Our goal is to get 500 responses, and to have this survey completed by August 31, 2013. All responses are anonymous.  We will share the results with you, so that you can share with your membership.

Following is a sample email, which we offer for you to put into your own communications, so that your members understand the importance of this research.  Please consider sending this relevant people in your organization.

Thank you,

FEAPO Research Update: July 2013

Posted by on Jul 15, 2013 in EA Research | 0 comments

Hello All

Attached is a research update from Sandeep.

We are in the process of confirming the use of facilities for the next meeting with Siemens and will let you know as soon as dates are confirmed.

We may do the meeting in early spring as we are planning to have new faculty join the center in the spring and it would be nice to have them attend this meeting and get to meet all of you.  This might work better for facilities as well.

I hope to have things confirmed in the next few weeks.

Thanks!

Brian
